Make sure the Mountain Country Christmas in Lights event is on your list of must-see holiday attractions this year! Thousands of twinkling lights will sparkle in the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds this holiday season with a spectacular light show featuring fun for the whole family!

Opening night kicks off on Thanksgiving – Thursday, November 26 at 6 p.m. and will be open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday through December 26 (Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day). Admission is $6 per person and children 12 and under are free. There is ample FREE parking available at the fairgrounds.

The event will feature Christmas arts and crafts, camel rides, a fire pit for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows and of course, pictures with Santa!

New this year is Cowtown – featuring a real cow with a milking station for the kids. According to the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds,  Cowtown will be ” a live exhibit which contains an old time creamery where patrons participate in preparing a cow for milking by hand. Kids get hands-on experiences with the process of making butter ice cream and soap using historic tools and machines in these processes, and they learn the concept of “Home Made” just the way grandma used to do it!”

There will be food and hot chocolate on site for purchase as well and Christmas music is provided by local area churches. Pets are NOT allowed.

Traveling from out of town? No problem, we have a host of beautiful lodging options available for your Christmas vacation! The Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds are located in beautiful Hiawassee, Georgia at 1311 Music Hall Road.
